Jelena S. Radović Selgrad was born on August 30, 1988, in Belgrade, where she attended elementary and Medical high school "Zvezdara". She graduated from the University of Belgrade-Faculty of Pharmacy in 2015. She is the author of a student scientific paper entitled "Examination of the antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of fungus Laetiporus sulphureus (Bull.) Murril (Poliporaceae) extracts", awarded as the best medical sciences paper by the University of Belgrade in September 2014. From July to August 2015, she participated in the Student Exchange Program at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland, at the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany. After completing studies, she finished an internship at the "Euromedic" pharmacy in Belgrade.

In 2015 she enrolled in doctoral studies, module-Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Since 2019, she has been engaged at the Department of Pharmacognosy, first on the Project of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development no. 173021: "Investigation on the medicinal plants: morphological, chemical and pharmacological characterisation" (coordinator Prof. Dr. Nada Kovačević), and then in accordance with the contracts of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia with the University of Belgrade-Faculty of Pharmacy (Grant number: 451-03-47/2023-01/ 200161).

She teaches practical classes in the courses Pharmacognosy, Phytotherapy and Analysis of herbal drugs and preparations at Department of Pharmacognosy.

Her scientific interest is chemical characterization of plants, fungi and their isolates using various analytical methods including spectrophotometry, liquid-mass and gas chromatography. She also investigates the pharmacological activities of plant and fungal extracts in vitro, such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, cytotoxic and enzyme inhibitory activity, and in vivo including antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective activity.
She is the author of three papers and co-author of seven papers published in international and national journals. She is the author/co-author of 19 international and national conference papers.

She is fluent in English.
