Jana Ivanovic was born in Belgrade in 1997. She graduated from primary and secondary school in Ljig, as a student of the generation and holder of the diploma "Vuk Karadžić". In 2008, she began her studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade, majoring in pharmacy. She completed her studies in 2021 with an average grade of 9.42. Her thesis on "The influence of selected substances with psychotropic effects on the behavior of rats in the host-intruder interaction test" was defended with a grade of 10 by her supervisor prof. dr Miroslav Savic. During her studies, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia - Dositeja.

In September 2020, she completed the course "Principles of working with experimental animals" at the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade. She is a holder of a certificate for working with experimental animals under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. She has enrolled for the academic year 2021/2022 at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade for doctoral studies, module Pharmacology, mentored by prof. dr Miroslav Savić. In October 2021, she was hired as a junior researcher at the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade.

Jana Ivanović is involved in the scientific research work of the Department of Pharmacology. Since October 2021 she is involved in the H2020 project Neurotoxicity De-Risking in Preclinical Drug Discovery (NeuroDeRisk). Since May 2022, she has been employed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development as part of the institutional funding of scientific research work at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Since September 2023, he has been a member of the project "Neuroimmune aspects of mood, anxiety and cognitive effects of leads/drug candidates acting at GABAA and/or sigma-2 receptors: In vitro/in vivo delineation by nano- and hiPSC-based platforms" (NanoCellEmoCog), funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the IDEA program. Since January 2024, she has been working as a researcher on the project "Translational road to elucidate the effects of GLP-1 receptor agonist treatment on adipose tissue - brain axis function in cognitive processes in diabetes type 2 with concomitant obesity" (CoD-GOAT) within the PROMIS 2023 program, also funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.

From October 2022, he will actively participate in the practical teaching of compulsory subjects (Pharmacology 1, Pharmacology 2, Pharmacotherapy) and elective subjects (Pharmacotherapy in Pediatrics) at the Department of Pharmacology.

Field of research: neuropharmacology, behavioral pharmacology, cognition and neuroinflammation research, behavioral paradigms, molecular and neurochemical correlations.
