CV

Gordana Popović graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade in 1982. She enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade in 1987, and defended her master's thesis "Protolytic equilibria of 1,4-benzodiazepines" in 1990. At the same faculty in 1994, she defended her doctoral dissertation "Study of homogeneous and heterogeneous acid-base equilibria of some 1,4-benzodiazepines".

After graduating from the Faculty, she worked as a pharmacist at the Pharmacy Institution Belgrade. She started working at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade in 1984. She participates in the teaching of General and inorganic chemistry (IAS), Solution chemistry (IAS) and Protolytic equilibrium (DAS). She is the co-author of 5 university textbooks. She was a mentor of 230 graduate/final theses, 4 doctoral dissertations, 3 master's theses. She was a member of the commission for the defense of over 400 diploma/final theses, 7 doctoral dissertations and 5 master's theses. Since 1991, she has been participating in 5 national and 3 international projects. She is the co-author of one chapter in a monograph of international importance, 49 papers in journals from the SCI list, 3 papers in a national journal, and about 80 papers at conferences of international and national importance. Research interest includes the study of acid-base equilibria, determination of pKa values and pH-dependent solubility of pharmacologically active substances. In recent works, she deals with the investigation of equilibria in micellar solutions of various surfactants as simulating biomembrane systems. She is the winner of two ICN Galenika awards in the field of chemistry, for a master's thesis (1991) and a doctoral dissertation (2005). The course General and Inorganic Chemistry, in the realization of which she participates, in 2014, 2015 and 2018, was evaluated by the graduates of the Faculty for the best mandatory course in the study program Pharmacy.
