Dr Leposava Pavun graduated from the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade from which she obtained the MS degree in 1998. She defended Ph.D. thesis entitled: “Spectrofluorimetric investigation of complex compounds of morin, hesperidin and quercetin with aluminium” in 2013. at the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade.

Dr Leposava Pavun is a assistant professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry and Instrumental Methods of the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Belgrade. She participates in teaching on the two subjects: Instrumental Methods – study program: Pharmacy and Instrumental Methods – study program: Pharmacy - Medical Biochemistry. She also participates in conducting practical exercises in all subjects of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Instrumental Methods. She was a mentor of 17 graduation thesis undergraduate theses and member of numerous Committees for defending graduate works.

Leposava Pavun was member of the Committee for the defense of one doctoral dissertation at Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade (2020).

Until 2019, she was a member in a national project: Synthesis, modeling, physicochemical and biological properties of organic compounds and related metal complexes (University of Kragujevac – Faculty of Science, grant number 172016, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development Republic of Serbia).

The area of Dr Leposava Pavun scientific research is focused on the analysis of complex compounds of flavonoids with metal ions in equilibrium conditions, determination of the composition of these complexes, determination of their physical - chemical constants, definition of optimal conditions for quantitative determination of flavonoids. Another area of scientific research is related to the examination of the sorption properties of chemically modified lignocellulosic fibers, which are efficient biosorbents of heavy metal ions.

She has published 21 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and had 13 presentations at scientific meetings. Dr Leposava Pavun was a invited reviewer in several international journals.

Some of her activities within the Faculty include: a president of the Council for second year, a member of the Committee organizing and applying procedures for student's assessment, member of the Commission for Monitoring and Improving the Quality of Teaching. She is member of the Serbian Chemical Society.
